Idea work is about creativity in practice and includes activities concerned with generating, nurturing, pitching, materializing, sharing, communicating and realizing ideas. For many media organizations idea work is the main driver for creating value, whether it is creating ideas to stories on a continuous basis, improving organizational processes or developing new products and services. While research on creativity has been dominated by studies of individual creativity and major breakthroughs the term idea work denotes first and foremost creative work that people do together in everyday work practice.
